FASHION FOCUS: MIXED PRINTS
Mixing prints and patterns as well as different textures has now been remade to be popular. However, the "trend" hasn't always been on it's peak mainly because if it isn't done right, the person tends to look a little if not a whole lot of tacky. The trick with this crazy trend is to find pieces that are both subtle and bold all at once. For example, in today's look, I am wearing a black and gold stripe crop top along with a floral skirt but if you notice, both my skirt and my top share a common color, which is black. Which then somehow pulls the two opposing patterns together. Also, in this look, I decided to wear a slouch red blazer to give the outfit some kind of structure but at the same time keeping it wearable and casual.

The woven bag & bracelet are from Joan & Jesula, a Lorraine Tayne collection. Sunglasses from Giant Vintage
A few days ago, I received a special parcel from Lorraine Tayne which contained a bracelet, a beautiful woven handbag and a pair of lightning bolt earrings (not shown). I was super psyched because I loved every item! It not only suits my style but believe it or not, these pieces are pretty affordable too. Sadly, they are not available on the site anymore but if you check out their site you will see amazingly crafted jewelry and accessories that you will surely love. The Joan & Jesula collection was specifically made for women who want that everyday glam accessory and she can wear with multiple pieces in her wardrobe.

FASHION FOCUS: COLOR/PRINT BLOCKING
Today's "Sunday-funday" outfit consists of color/print blocking. By incorporating a bright colored top, wild print bottoms and another bright colored pair of killer heels. And as always, over-accessorizing is a must for me, so stack and layer on the gold. It's ok if you mix different colored metals as it adds more depth to your look. I also finished off this look by adding a light washed denim vest with a few studs on both pockets. It not only makes this outfit less "glamorous" and more casual but gives it that edgy feel to it.

FASHION FOCUS: CAPES
Capes have been an ideal choice for outerwear this past F/W season as well as the year before. However, it should also be an essential part of your wardrobe for this winter- spring transitional weather as this time of year, the weather is more unpredictable than usual. Gusty winds, extremely cold mornings and warmer afternoons and who can forget, rain on a sunny day? Now, if that doesn't get on you on your toes, I sure a heck don't know what will.
These capes are very easy to put on and take off, making them the perfect outerwear for this unpredictable transitional weather.
Now, in this outfit, I decided to wear my Gossip Girl Fur Cloak (minus the faux fur collar that it came with it, obviously, it would be too hot if I wore it) that I received from Sheinside. I then decided to pair a rose colored button up top with a pair of forest green skinnies to add subtle pops of color without over doing or over powering each of the garment pieces. I finished off the look with a pair of laced up booties and a bag of choice, of which I decided to opt for a neutral colored bag that will not only compliment the boots but also the entire outfit.
Now, with this crazy Northern California weather, having this cape around sure helps keep things together and in place. Not only that, but it also makes it equally chic for the purpose it does. This cape can be worn over skinny jeans or a little black dress, creating an effortlessly put together outfit that goes from day to night. It also features a detachable faux fur collar that can be put on for colder nights.

Today's weather was extremely unusual. --The rain was in & out as if someone is messing with the light switch, however, in this case, mother nature. Also, today was incredibly windy, so windy that I could probably be swept off my feet and taken to the other side of the country. Nonetheless, today's outfit consisted of a thick chunky bold print sweater, some nice comfy denim, combat boots and a knit head band -turban. I'd say, it's almost weather appropriate.

So, today was our first class meeting for my Event Production class. It's a requirement course for Fashion merchandising majors (i think?) and well, I'd say it's probably one of the classes that I've been looking forward to since a few semesters back mainly because the class itself is very hands on when it comes to producing events within the school &/or helping outside of school. Like this year, me and some of the fashion students in that class will be helping out for Sac Fashion Week in Sacramento next month as well as a very luxurious & grand event in San Francisco called A Soolip Wedding. Other events include our school's very own Fashion show at the end of the semester, which will be of course produced by our class & it will feature student designers in our program. Another great thing about this class is that, at the end of the semester we will be going to a Jean Paul Gultier exhibit in San Francisco, which again is another great opportunity and experience and I am definitely looking forward to it. Although, I know it's going to be a lot of hard work, I know it's going to be absolutely worth it in the end. (:

FASHION HIGHLIGHT: LARGE CIRCULAR FRAMES
Round frames are definitely back in fashion right now like it was 2009 again, however, round frames goes all the way back from the 1960's hippie style counter culture movement. Large circular sunglasses adds a more classic and mysterious feel to the look, while also giving off a feminine & vulnerable vibe.

80SPURPLE.COM

80's purple has always been my go to online site to get fashionable/ trendy sunglasses from, because they not only have a huge variety to chose from but believe it or not, I only got this pair for a very affordable price of $10. -- I also got another pair that's again, Gold & Black but that'll be featured on my next post :)

FASHION FOCUS:
6INCH TRIPLE STRAP FAUX LEATHER WEDGES

This ankle platform peep toe wedge is designed with three cut-out straps & fashioned with a zipper closer on the back of the heel. The heels are about 6 inches tall, so it's perfect for petite girls like me who want to add height without sacrificing comfort.

These wedges can be worn with denim jeans, a skirt or even a dress. I really love the fact that these can match anything and everything in your wardrobe because the look is so versatile. You could say that it's complex in it's simplicity. I say that because the overall look of these wedges is very simple yet when you see the wedge part, with the wood detailing, it definitely makes you think twice because these shoes are dangerous! I mean come on, 6 inches!! -- But for those brave souls out there like myself, you will love these wedges & you will want to have it in the color Beige as well. ;)

Vicarious Vintage

Hey loves, I know I haven't posted an OOTD for a while now, so here it is, finally :) Also, about my last post..THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO READ, COMMENTED & UNDERSTOOD ME & MY POST. I received about 500+ views on that particular post on the day it was posted. Anyways, for those who commented, thank you so much for the understanding & support that you all have showed me. That is one of the reasons why I love my readers so much! I'm glad that I was able to relate & inspire some of you guys. Again, thank you so much from the very bottom of my heart <3

On a fashionably note, you can see that the title of this post is "Vicarious Vintage" it is because I found it very fitting since I am rocking one of their pieces.

Each piece from Vicarious Vintage is definitely one of a kind. If the makers of vintage fashion can speak they would personally direct you to VV's site.

Anyways, for those who follow me via Twitter, you guys know that I tweeted about speaking with Evie,  Vicarious Vintage's CEO & creative director. To be honest I didn't know what to expect. However, she is probably one of the most sincere & warmest people you'll ever get to talk to. She is amazingly knowledgeable about fashion & its industry because of course, she was a FIT graduate. Anyways, it was a pleasure speaking to such a kind person. :)

So, you're probably wondering, what is Vicarious Vintage? Well, first of, Vicarious Vintage is based in Honolulu, Hawaii. It offers its consumers & customers, one of a kind- vintage pieces that can be guaranteed not only for its unique style but also for its quality. Another thing that I love about this company is that for every purchase you make, VV donates 10% of the expense to help end Human Trafficking in the US as well as in other countries. Like their slogan, "Vicarious Vintage: for the socialite trendsetter with a heart of gold" I, for one am advocate for great things such as this and do appreciate companies that are whole heartedly giving back to help the community.
