I don't know if you noticed on my last post, but I was actually complaining about the over 90 degree weather here in California and I guess mother nature heard my constant complaint and gave us Californians the rightful weather for this month. And, boy am I soooooo ecstatic about it!
Today, I was able to wear this super adorable dress that I got from lajupettefashion.com it's a great dress to wear for a girls night out or something but I wasn't going to have any of those for a while since I am crazy busy so I decided to just dress this dress down by pairing it with some combat boots and a furry vest and blazer. It's actually a pretty awesome fall transitional look since it's not entirely all that cold yet.

Also, here's a holiday event window that me and my Visual Merchandising team worked on. What do you guys think? We used paper ornaments and mounted them on foam boards to create dimension.

Today was just a semi-casual day..didn't really feel like worrying too much about what to wear so I just happened to grab this particular dress and threw on this amazing cardigan that is perfect even in the summer as it has all these glorious little cut outs. It's also such a light material that whatever you pair it with, it would actually make it look a lot more comfy and less dressy.

FASHION FOCUS: The French Tip
And no, not the type of style/ look everyone practically gets on their nails. But, you can say it somewhat has its similarities. However, the "french tip" that I'm talking about are the tips on my awesome flats.
I don't know about you but this current shoe trend is, should I say, "HAWWWT!" Yes! they definitely are! Not only are they incredibly chic, but who doesn't want flats that are extraordinarily amazing? and can I say, comfortable too? Anyway, I another reason why I am so in love with these flats is because of the gold straps  that go on the ankles....such a wonderful addition to the entire look of the shoe.
As far as styling goes, I decided to pair these "duckbill" babies (duckbill: because the gold tip on the flats makes it look like a ducks bill, get it?) with my extremely comfortable and neon leggings along with a sheer polka dot exposed shoulder button up top. Since everything on the bottom half is pretty much "tight" I decided to go for a top that has flow and movement to it. Something light and airy to balance out the look. Accessories were also on the minimal side this time around because I didn't want to over do it with all the dots happening on my top. However, a little statement piece such a chain/scarf necklace and a few vintage rings will do the trick to fully complete the look.

How would you style these "french tip" or "duckbill" flats?

BRAND FEATURE: SUGARLIPS APPAREL

"Sugarlips Apparel, located in Los Angeles California, was founded by fashion enthusiast Charles Park in 2002. Sugarlips started with just a small line of sweaters and within a few years Sugarlips grew to be the largest manufacturer of seamless apparel in North America. Sugarlips has since then expanded its line and now produces fashionable contemporary clothing at affordable prices, which are available all over the world and carried by most major department stores, including Macys, Nordstrom's Dillard's, and many more.
Sugarlips has grown from the largest North American manufacturer of seamless apparel, to the fashion forward contemporary brand you see today. At Sugarlips our goal is to provide quality female fashion at affordable prices."
Sugarlips has a cute- trendy, modern to contemporary look to their garments, which can be worn by everyone! I love the fact that this blouse that I got is sheer on the top then it becomes opaque before it passes my chest. It's made of light material which makes it a great piece for the warm weather. This blouse is also very in fashion when it comes to it's style. Aside from the light fabric that's used, I also love the button up look that it has, because it makes the garment look very chic and sophisticated at the same time minimalistic.

Black Pyramid

This Master Control dress from Black Pyramid is absolutely amazing. I love the iridescent quality of the fabric as it makes the garment change colors depending on lighting. In my case, the flash photography made the dress appear more of a metallic cobalt blue with a ton of sheen.
This dress features a wide neckline which emphasizes the woman's collar bone as well as gathered sleeves with a subtle poof. In this dress you would also notice the pleats on the bottom half, triangular mesh accents on the bodice, and a deep v-cut on the back side.

HOW TO STYLE:
- You can singe the waist with thick/ skinny elastic belt
- You can also wear long multi-stand necklaces
- You can wear opaque tights or even lace patterned stockings

FASHION FOCUS: MINT CRAZE
Yes, I know it's a little late for this post, but better late than never right? Well, as we all know this season, is entirely and utterly dedicated to one specific color, which is none other than mint. The color basically speaks for this season, which is fresh, light and fun, all of which one color could describe. This whole mint craze has taken all of us by storm, because I could honestly say that every fashion site I go to has mint outfit postings everywhere and I just love this particular color trend. In this look, I decided to pair my snazzy mint jazzy high waist leggings with a simple understated button up top and a loud, almost obnoxious pair of peach striped canvas platforms that are overly loud and obnoxious, just the way I like my kicks to be. Given this "simple" look, I decided to go crazy overload with arm and finger candy, as expected.

Overall, I love this look, not only for it's random highlights of color but also the sudden change of texture with the shoes. I most especially appreciate the comfort of both leggings and shoes. As we all know, leggings practically replaced denim and I believe it's now the leggings era haha! These leggings are also high waist, giving you and illusion of longer and slimmer thighs and legs. --You will also love the fact that these awesome high waist leggings are only $19.10 at URBANOG.COM, not only that, they also come in a wide variety of colors, so make sure you grab a pair & use my 20% off code: NIKKI20 (This code expires on April 1, 2012; 12PM PST)
