Today's weather was probably the biggest sign that the autumn season has begun...finally! It was around low 50's today and it was not only gloomy but also rainy. I mean, don't get me wrong, I do love and enjoy the rain, just as long as I'm indoors and I'm not the one getting soaked. However, in today's case, it was the exact opposite because I was not only outdoors, but I was getting wet as well =/ However, with that aside, today's outfit is incredibly comfy, grungy and colorful.
I've been loving mixing and matching colors for a long time now since I'm not a black and white type of girl. So, in this ensemble, I decided to pair my gargantuan of a cardigan with my neon green beanie. Knits on knits are perfect for this cold weather!!! I'm also wearing my favorite studded shorts but of course, I'm wearing knit tights to give me that extra warmth.
Overall, I must say, this has to be one of my favorite outfits. ---I don't know why but lately I've been into beanies, maybe because it matches with the style of my hair or what? But yeah, I digress! Today's look, is not only super warm but you can say it's also pretty on point with last seasons trends. LMAO!

FASHION FOCUS: HIGH WAIST LEGGINGS
High waist bottoms basically lifts, tones and makes your legs incredibly elongated, which is why I love it! However, the only flaw you'll get from wearing high waist leggings is that it might showcase unnecessary bumps and lumps that you are trying to conceal. On a much lighter note, high waist bottoms will not only elongate your legs but will also make your bum look firmer. HA! now, isn't that all we really want ladies?
Anyway, in today's look, I am rocking these awesome high waist disco leggings along with a floral print chiffon button up top with a pair of Lady Gaga-esque heel less platforms. Now, this looks is definitely an understatement, even Lady Gaga herself might take a second look.

There is nothing subtle about today's outfit. I wanted to go neon on neon with both my top and my footwear,  so I decided to wear white skinny jeans rather than a dark wash denim or even dark leggings. This then, allows the entire ensemble to look rather sophisticated without necessarily wearing "formal wear." I also used gold tone accessories to give the outfit an overall classy yet clean appeal.

FASHION FOCUS: BOYFRIEND BLAZER
Blazers are a great piece to wear to make something so simple and casual appear more well thought of and put together. In this look, I'm just wearing a regular print tee with the words "Museum Craft Design" which came in a goodie bag from a fashion show that I went to in San Francisco earlier this year. I then paired it with my favorite dark wash skinnies and navy oxford heels. I also added this stripe silk scarf that I thrifted a couple of years ago to just add a subtle pop of color to my outfit.
Since this California weather is barely transitioning to the fall season, blazers are a perfect item to keep you warm in the day and night time without making you incredibly stuffy.

FASHION FOCUS: GRUNGE CHIC
Ever felt like you just want to dress down but can not afford to look like a complete mess? Well, this look is perfect for those of us who still want to look stylish at the same time kind of like you didn't give it that much thought. This look is a tad on the "grungy" side because of the ombre denim vest, boots and the beanie, but what makes this look extra chic is how it still looks somewhat presentable and should I say "clean"?? It's another one of those "lazy day outfits" I don't know why, but I've been so drawn to these types of looks lately...maybe it's because of the weather transitioning? Nonetheless, this look is easy to wear and is super comfortable!

FASHION FOCUS: POP OF NEON
With all this pastel trending this season, we forget sometimes that neon colors are definitely coming back from the 80's. Now, this "trend" might be a little over the top for some people but having little neon accents never hurt anyone. In fact, little pops of neon in a person's outfit makes one appear more fun and a bit more daring than usual. As you could all see, my outfit already consists of too many colors, however, I decided to add my Yellow bolo cord bracelet that I got from Ettika to add a brighter and bolder accent to my outfit. This pop of neon, then becomes the statement piece to my look regardless of all the color craze that's already happening. Now regardless of whether this whole neon trend is for your or not, you should definitely give it a try because you don't necessarily need to get caught in a full neon gear, little pops of neon is all you need.
