Today's ensemble mainly consists of Joan & Jesula by Lorrain Tayne accessories. I tried wearing more subtle colors to make sure my multi-stand coral necklace stands out. However, with the subtlety of my outfits color palette aside, I decided to boost up the amo, texture wise.
Here you could see my beautiful lace top which contrasts but complements with the woven texture of my purse. Also, along with "darkness" from both my blazer and leggings, it showcases the bright coral necklace a lot more.
Anyway, I really love today's outfit because it looks very modern chic. The blazer adds sophistication while the nude spiked wedges makes it a little edgy and the necklace brings more of a playful side to the entire look.

FASHION FOCUS: WEDGE SNEAKERS
The entire fashion world became addicted to this whole wedge sneaker combo this season. Because not only are they extremely comfortable but they are also incredibly stylish. They give you that super casual feel to your look but at the same time, it also gives you that little boost of height, for those of us shorties out there. I love how these can be worn with jeans, mini dresses, even some maxi dresses as well as skirts and short, you name it! These wedge sneakers will totally dress your ensemble down if you feel like you're a little over dressed for such a casual occasion. Nonetheless, I would say that this whole wedge-sneaker trend is a double thumbs up in my fashion book and definitely gets my vote.

Today's Sunday Chic look consists of a pleated collared top that I bought from Romwe.com paired with a high waist dark wash denim skirt and some spiked nude pumps. Since the colors are all a little neutral I decided to add a pop of color by using my yellow skinny waist belt.
This look is extremely feminine but the spikes on my heels add a bit of edge to it. It's sophisticated and modest at the same time. This look can be worn on Sundays for church or dinner parties.

CAMPAIGN: Rescue animals by shopping

ADVERT

I know this may be a whole different topic considering the fact that my blog is entirely dedicated to fashion and my personal style. However, I being an animal lover and an advocate to such causes, I decided to dedicate this one post to a special charity that will combine both fashion and my love for animals. This special organization is called Rescue Paw Foundation and they are currently teaming up with Threadflip.com for a special week to raise funds by shopping for designer brands at up to 70% off and the best thing about it all is that 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Rescue Paw Foundation as well as the shelters and rescue animals all over the US.

The last day to shop is tomorrow,
September 16, 2012; 12am PST.

So, please help and show your support for this special cause because if you aren't aware of the stats, every year in the U.S., between 9 to 11 million animals die in shelters and many more are abandoned by their owners each day. It's such a sad sad truth and knowing this, it really just breaks my heart considering the fact that I too have 2 loving dogs.

Both Nash (pomeranian-chihuhahua) & Chloe (yorkie-schnauzer) are sort of like rescue dogs. We bought Nash through pennysaver for $100, and when we got him, he was filled with ticks, fleas and had worms =/ and my dad found Chloe in the streets. However, these two amazing loves of my life has brought so much joy and happiness in our home and I could not imagine our lives without them.

So, please show your support by shopping!!!

Some brands include, Chloe, Pour la Victoire, Topshop, H&M, Hudson, Bebe, Michelle and more.

FASHION FOCUS: THE COLD SHOULDER
n. Informal. Deliberate coldness or disregard; a slight or a snub: "She received the cold shoulder from the other club members"

This past Spring/ Summer season we were introduced to the ever growing popularity of the "cold shoulder." Whether it'd be on tops or dresses, it is surely to make a statement and expose what I claim to be one of the sexiest parts of a woman's body.....the shoulders.
With no particular pun intended, the "cold shoulder" trend has got nothing to do with disregarding people or being "cold" to others for that matter. The name simply derives from the simple fact that the shoulders are exposed through the cut out of the garment, which then makes perfect sense because when one part of the body is exposed and not covered, of course it tends to be "colder" than the rest of the body parts.
In this outfit, I am wearing this flowy sheer polka dot cold shoulder top that also features a peter pan collar. I paired this top with a simple yet classic dark wash denim with gray oxford flats and a subtle pop of accessory though my leather fringe bib necklace. It is a simple outfit that basically speaks for itself! It's not only casual but it's also loads of comfy!

FASHION FOCUS: FRINGE
We might say that the fringe/ tassel adornment trend bus has now been long gone. But, as expected, I never follow any of those what's in and what's out type of deal when it comes to fashion. I simply wear whatever trend at any given time, but of course it all depends on my mood and the outfit, but I digress. In my honest opinion, fringes will always have this boho-chic meets western cow gal feel to it, which carries the entire look in a simplistic way without having to over accessorize.
In this outfit, I paired my Yoko leather fringe bib necklace in black with a somewhat monochromatic midi dress, a slouch cardigan and some open toe oxford sandals. Giving off an overall boho, vintage-y yet casual ensemble that looks like you didn't really give much thought to the look but somehow tried type of thing. --For short, this is my "lazy don't want to go to class but have to outfit" I mean, why wear just sweat pants when you could still be fashionable and comfortable at the same time?
