Today's Sunday Chic look consists of a pleated collared top that I bought from Romwe.com paired with a high waist dark wash denim skirt and some spiked nude pumps. Since the colors are all a little neutral I decided to add a pop of color by using my yellow skinny waist belt.
This look is extremely feminine but the spikes on my heels add a bit of edge to it. It's sophisticated and modest at the same time. This look can be worn on Sundays for church or dinner parties.

Today was just a semi-casual day..didn't really feel like worrying too much about what to wear so I just happened to grab this particular dress and threw on this amazing cardigan that is perfect even in the summer as it has all these glorious little cut outs. It's also such a light material that whatever you pair it with, it would actually make it look a lot more comfy and less dressy.

FASHION FOCUS: THE COLD SHOULDER
n. Informal. Deliberate coldness or disregard; a slight or a snub: "She received the cold shoulder from the other club members"

This past Spring/ Summer season we were introduced to the ever growing popularity of the "cold shoulder." Whether it'd be on tops or dresses, it is surely to make a statement and expose what I claim to be one of the sexiest parts of a woman's body.....the shoulders.
With no particular pun intended, the "cold shoulder" trend has got nothing to do with disregarding people or being "cold" to others for that matter. The name simply derives from the simple fact that the shoulders are exposed through the cut out of the garment, which then makes perfect sense because when one part of the body is exposed and not covered, of course it tends to be "colder" than the rest of the body parts.
In this outfit, I am wearing this flowy sheer polka dot cold shoulder top that also features a peter pan collar. I paired this top with a simple yet classic dark wash denim with gray oxford flats and a subtle pop of accessory though my leather fringe bib necklace. It is a simple outfit that basically speaks for itself! It's not only casual but it's also loads of comfy!

FASHION FOCUS: GRUNGE CHIC
Ever felt like you just want to dress down but can not afford to look like a complete mess? Well, this look is perfect for those of us who still want to look stylish at the same time kind of like you didn't give it that much thought. This look is a tad on the "grungy" side because of the ombre denim vest, boots and the beanie, but what makes this look extra chic is how it still looks somewhat presentable and should I say "clean"?? It's another one of those "lazy day outfits" I don't know why, but I've been so drawn to these types of looks lately...maybe it's because of the weather transitioning? Nonetheless, this look is easy to wear and is super comfortable!

FASHION FOCUS: FRINGE
We might say that the fringe/ tassel adornment trend bus has now been long gone. But, as expected, I never follow any of those what's in and what's out type of deal when it comes to fashion. I simply wear whatever trend at any given time, but of course it all depends on my mood and the outfit, but I digress. In my honest opinion, fringes will always have this boho-chic meets western cow gal feel to it, which carries the entire look in a simplistic way without having to over accessorize.
In this outfit, I paired my Yoko leather fringe bib necklace in black with a somewhat monochromatic midi dress, a slouch cardigan and some open toe oxford sandals. Giving off an overall boho, vintage-y yet casual ensemble that looks like you didn't really give much thought to the look but somehow tried type of thing. --For short, this is my "lazy don't want to go to class but have to outfit" I mean, why wear just sweat pants when you could still be fashionable and comfortable at the same time?

FASHION FOCUS: MIXED PRINTS
Mixing prints and patterns as well as different textures has now been remade to be popular. However, the "trend" hasn't always been on it's peak mainly because if it isn't done right, the person tends to look a little if not a whole lot of tacky. The trick with this crazy trend is to find pieces that are both subtle and bold all at once. For example, in today's look, I am wearing a black and gold stripe crop top along with a floral skirt but if you notice, both my skirt and my top share a common color, which is black. Which then somehow pulls the two opposing patterns together. Also, in this look, I decided to wear a slouch red blazer to give the outfit some kind of structure but at the same time keeping it wearable and casual.

The woven bag & bracelet are from Joan & Jesula, a Lorraine Tayne collection. Sunglasses from Giant Vintage
A few days ago, I received a special parcel from Lorraine Tayne which contained a bracelet, a beautiful woven handbag and a pair of lightning bolt earrings (not shown). I was super psyched because I loved every item! It not only suits my style but believe it or not, these pieces are pretty affordable too. Sadly, they are not available on the site anymore but if you check out their site you will see amazingly crafted jewelry and accessories that you will surely love. The Joan & Jesula collection was specifically made for women who want that everyday glam accessory and she can wear with multiple pieces in her wardrobe.
