Designer Kyle Gajeton with models, Jennifer Orozco and Alexandria Leary

Kyle Gajeton is a fellow fashion student at SJDC who majors in not only fashion design but also fashion merchandising. He is one talented designer among others at our school who have given life to our wonderful fashion program. He is heavily influenced by technology and space exploration as you can see by his two designs, which included a lot of metalics and geometric shapes on both garments as well as the accessories.

When asked where he gets his inspiration from, Kyle tells us, "I love looking up into the night sky and seeing thousands of stars. It makes me feel like there is so much more to life and that we don't know what the future holds but the future will definitely be an adventure. I try to make my designs recreate the suspenseful feeling I get when I think about the future or when I think of us being such a small part of a huge universe. My designs really reflect who I am. I am constantly trying to figure things out and predict what's going to happen or what someone is going to say. My design concepts are about trying to predict the future and make it available to people now."

Kyle along with ten other fashion design students will be taking part in our schools annual fashion show called "A Story of Fashion" where they will create their own collections from the ground up. With a unique and very futuristic concept, I'm sure Kyle will have a very interesting and one of a kind collection, which I'm sure we'll all look forward to seeing.

FASHION FOCUS: BRIGHT SATCHEL
Lately I've been noticing that satchels, cross body and messenger bags have been getting a lot of hype not only for it's structured look but also for it's multipurpose functional use. I must say, this particular bag from Bettyshoe.com is incredibly stylish. I really love that it has a bright mustard color that just adds some spice to a very neutral outfit. With this bag, I paired it with something on the "preppy" side. A modern twist to a typical university student.

First of all, let me start by saying that I have been a freelance makeup artist for about 6 years now (since 2006) and everything in my kit are exclusively for my clients only and this is aside from my own personal makeup collection, which by the way is far less than what I have in this kit. Also, I am by no means trying to brag or show off what I have because to be honest there's really nothing to brag about. This traincase was actually gifted to me by my boyfriend for our 2 year anniversary last year and some of the MAC brushes were from him as well. Now, as for the contents of this kit, I didn't have everything all at once. It happened gradually over the span of a few years, this is what I have accumulated, and I started building it up as I got more clients.

Also, I believe that to be a makeup artist, you do not need to use everything high-end for the reason that makeup artists don't even make as much $ as you think they do, unless they're some big shot. Makeup artists are versatile people who can work with whatever that have. Plus, there's nothing to be ashamed of, drugstore brands can be just as great or even better than some high end brands that will cost you a leg and arm.

So, I hope this kind of helps those up and coming freelance makeup artists out there who still are not sure what they should have in their kit and maybe give some inspiration or something of that nature hehe!

Today's weather was extremely unusual. --The rain was in & out as if someone is messing with the light switch, however, in this case, mother nature. Also, today was incredibly windy, so windy that I could probably be swept off my feet and taken to the other side of the country. Nonetheless, today's outfit consisted of a thick chunky bold print sweater, some nice comfy denim, combat boots and a knit head band -turban. I'd say, it's almost weather appropriate.

So, today was our first class meeting for my Event Production class. It's a requirement course for Fashion merchandising majors (i think?) and well, I'd say it's probably one of the classes that I've been looking forward to since a few semesters back mainly because the class itself is very hands on when it comes to producing events within the school &/or helping outside of school. Like this year, me and some of the fashion students in that class will be helping out for Sac Fashion Week in Sacramento next month as well as a very luxurious & grand event in San Francisco called A Soolip Wedding. Other events include our school's very own Fashion show at the end of the semester, which will be of course produced by our class & it will feature student designers in our program. Another great thing about this class is that, at the end of the semester we will be going to a Jean Paul Gultier exhibit in San Francisco, which again is another great opportunity and experience and I am definitely looking forward to it. Although, I know it's going to be a lot of hard work, I know it's going to be absolutely worth it in the end. (:

FASHION FOCUS: JEWEL TONE DRESSES

Jewel tone dresses are great classics for any major holiday event without making you look tacky or too overdone. At the same time, these colors gives you just the right amount of pop alongside with some elegance and class.

Now, with this particular wrap dress, I paired it with some shine black tights, a braided belt to singe the waist to give the fabric some shape and a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Spiked Litas to give the overall look a little bit of edge. Also, since it's a wrap dress, there's bound to be lots of cleavage showing, so to avoid that from happening, I used a safety pin and pinned the garment from the inside according to how much neck/ chest I want to show. Then, I added a nice chunky necklace with mixed metals and textures to complete the look.

Overall, I really love this dress for it's color and versatility. I can even see wearing this dress in the spring and other seasons, paired with other accessories, of course. The only downside to it is that since it's made of a silk fabric, I wish it had some kind of lining to it because the garment without a lining makes the dress look very sheer. Nonetheless, I can still see myself wearing this dress multiple times this year.

Ms. MaryMac custom makes all their unique and one of a kind shoes that will not only turn a few heads but also add a little "pep in your step" (-- Ms. MaryMac) Each pair is specifically made just for you and you alone. Now, doesn't that sound delightful, knowing that something is created solely just for you?

If this still doesn't cut it for you, then you ought to know that not even two pairs of shoes would look alike, for everything is hand designed. So if a pair sells out and another customer wants the same exact pair, they could still order it but it wouldn't look completely the same as previous pair.

Now, the pair that I got from Ms. MaryMac is called "Zeeya." It is a round toe pump decked with large copper bows adorned with round mosaic-like buttons. It has 1.25" inch platforms both hidden and visible. Another cool feature about this pair is of course the subtle pale aqua blue color with loud brown zebra-like stripes, that are definitely a head turner. And inside you can see the custom made label/ logo which says "Created by: Ms. MaryMac" which kind of gives a sense of exclusivity.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this pair. It's absolutely gorgeous for the fact that it's the only crazy/ fun looking shoes I have in my shoe collection.

FASHION FOCUS: FAUX FUR
Faux fur on handbags are absolutely huge this season as it adds the whole "comfy/ primal" feel to the whole look. Yes! you can say, it's a bit exotic to be lugging around a purse with a huge patch of fur on it, just because real fur is taboo for some of us. However, faux fur handbags just seems to add texture to the whole look without making it seem like you're trying too hard to be noticed by PETA.

FASHION HIGHLIGHT: CHUNKY PLATFORMS
Chunky platforms have always been a staple in my wardrobe. It not only adds height to my tiny frame but it also adds an edgy feel that makes you look almost intimidating. --Platforms have now been huge for the past I don't know how many seasons, or decades even but I feel like it definitely retros the 60's, although now it has been tweeked and modernized to make them look less like gogo boots.

FASHION FOCUS: HOLIDAY STILETTOS
The holidays are fast approaching and what better way to start it off, but with a kick? These Sally Stilettos from bettyshoe.com will definitely turn heads as it is both glamorous and edgy at the same time. The leather upper is made of PU leather that features nine soft-tow ankle straps that provides extra comfort and support along with the black t-bar detail. Another amazing feature with these gorgeous shoes are the red plastic soles that resembles louboutins, which are incredibly pricey, if I may say so myself. However, for those who dream and wish to own their very own louboutins, but can not afford them, you can settle for these Sally Stilettos for the mean time as it adds a whole lot of glamour to a persons wardrobe.

Another thing that I love about bettyshoe.com is that they packaged everything every so nicely. They made sure that the shoes would be protected and that it came to my door step in perfectly good condition, which is why they decided to use clear plastic shoe boxes instead of your typical cardboard shoe box that could possibly get crushed.

FASHION HIGHLIGHT: STRUCTURED HANDBAG
Structured handbags just like this Pippa Tan Handbag is just exactly what a girl needs this season. Tan & gold color combinations are very hot this Fall/ Winter season as it adds both elegance and simplicity at the same time. The gold hardware adds class, elegance and a hint of professionalism to the entire look. This bag is very reminiscent to the Hermes handbags that are again, extremely over priced.

Hey loves,

Today, I turn a year older! OMG! can you guys believe I'm already 24 years old? O_O where has time gone? Anyways, it has been a good year this year and my birthday was great even though I wasn't really able to have my birthday dinner since mother nature interrupted by giving me a huge ass cramp. Colorful fabrics intertwined with a chain necklace always gives off a very elegant touch to the simplicity of the chain. In this case, the base is a gold metal plating with a blue-green fabric intertwined within it. FASHION FOCUS: COLOR BLOCKING
Color Blocking has been trending for the past year or so, now & I must say, it's doing pretty good holding it's spot. Now, what's interesting about the tee that I'm wearing is that 2 fabrics are actually used to make this, while incorporating the color blocking trend. The front side has a more of a chiffon type of fabric while the back side seems to be a cotton/ polyester mix. This tee also features two asymmetrical undone pockets which gives the look a more edgy feel to it.

I, personally love this particular trend just because I've always been a leopard/ cheetah print kinda gal. FASHION FOCUS: LEISURE ATTIRE
Today's outfit might not be as crazy or elaborate as my previous outfits & that's because today, I feel very laid back since I did have a crazy week. Also, the temperature has gone back up which means this bi-polar weather still hasn't settled entirely, so I decided to wear this Many Belles Down dress. It's a very comfortable pull over dress that features a built in elastic waist and almost a double breasted like lapel. With this dress I decided to wear a simple basic black sweet heart neck halter to sort of match the dress. Although, you can also wear a basic colored bandeau or even a lacey bandeau underneath it, if you want to achieve a more romantic look. This dress can also be worn with tights and a chunky cardigan for the colder seasons and just a wide brim floppy sun hat with some espadrille wedges for the summer on the beach days.

This look was inspired by the 2004 movie "Iron Jawed Angel" which starred Hilary Swank. It focuses on the American women's suffrage movement in the 1910's. Besides the fact that this movie was based on actual people and real events, it also showcases women empowerment and how us, women are able to do what we do now because of them. So, if you haven't seen the movie yet, I absolutely recommend it, especially if you like historical movies, this one is definitely for you.

FASHION HIGHLIGHT: CHIFFON BLOUSE

This season, chiffon is definitely making a huge statement. It is a lightweight fabric that is perfect for the transitional weather from summer to fall. Chiffon usually gives off a very classy feel to the look and giving it an elegant touch. It can be worn with the same colored bra or even a bandeau. --Usually I like wearing chiffon tops w/ a loose fitting/ flowy skirt as it adds to the movement of the body. However, it can also be paired with a high waisted shorts/ pants.

This particular one that I'm wearing features a front drape panel, which means I don't need to add any neck accessories because the panel already serves as one. It fits very loose on the body which then makes the garment very comfortable to wear. It also has some slight gathering on the shoulder.

FASHION FOCUS: WIDE LEG PANTS
It must be said that wide-leg pants are not for everyone. It’s for that reason that they’ve never been thedominant style to conquer the streets (not in the average fashioniers’ lifetime, anyway) and, while we count them amoung 2011′s fashion trends, we don’t expect their lack of mass popularity change in a hurry. Skinnies have a long life left in them yet; but this is an year in which flares are on-trend, and wide leg pants are there alongside them. But while the wide-leg may not become your new wardrobe staple just yet, don’t overlook it as an elegant, stylish addition to your 2011 repertoire, particularly when styled right. -- cr. fashionising.com

These pants that I'm wearing are freaking awesome! They are made with 100% cotton which makes them breathable & incredibly comfortable. They have elastics on the waist which is great if you decide to wear them on your waist for a high waisted look or even on your hip. Also, everything is handmade from Thailand. (Please pray & support them, especially in this tragic moment) Another thing that I love about these pants, aside from the comfort is that it gives you the illusion of wearing a maxi skirt, but if you look hard enough, it's actually pants ;)

FASHION HIGHLIGHT:
CHUNKY/ CLUSTERED NECKLACES
Chunky- clustered or huge statement piece necklaces are great for fall. They not only add texture to your wardrobe, but it also brings the entire outfit together, giving it a more elegant look. With my outfit only having the royal blue tank as a pop of color and everything else being neutral tones, I decided to go with a chunky twisted necklace with various pearls, chains and leaf-like wires all twisted to make this gorgeous piece. It compliments the texture of my knit shawl-sweater as well as accenting the vibrant royal blue tank that I have on.

I'd have to that these babies are probably one of the most comfortable pair of heels that I own. I was standing & walking around wearing these gray "vamp" heels for approximately 8-9 hours and my feet were fine when I got home. They give off a very glamorous finishing touch to your outfit while also giving you that extra "oomph." I love the fact that out of all the heels the I own, these are the only pair that didn't scrape the back of my ankles. It is all because of that extra 1cm back part of the zipper cover which is specially made for Glamrockchic only.

First of all, I just want to say, I sincerely apologize for this super delayed review. I have received my sample of Hello! Skinny Jeans in White Out about 3 months ago & unfortunately I've been swamped with things here and there that I have forgotten about it & barely doing my review post on this, now. Anyway, with that aside, I was able to to try out one of their jeans & I picked out White Out in size 26.

The first time I put them on, I must say my initial reaction was "Wow, it's so soft & comfortable" I honestly felt like I wasn't even wearing any jeans, because most jeans feel really tight and very constricting unlike Hello! Skinny Jeans. I love the fact that these fit me really good. Now, mind you, I am a person who is very picky when it comes to her jeans because I have a weird shape. I'm a petite girl, around 5 ft 2.5 inches, My thighs & legs are really skinny but my butt and hips are pretty big for a small girl. Technically I'm a size 3 in most jeans, but sometimes, size 3 jeans fit me on the hips but the butt and thigh area are too loose and saggy which is definitely not flattering :( However, size 0 jeans fit me just fine on the legs and thigh area but when I try to pull it up, it won't even go past my butt, so this is where my huge dilemma starts and I'm sure I'm not the only girl who has the same problem.

Women are built differently because we come in different shapes and sizes and we're not like those department store mannequins who have perfectly proportioned bodies. Now, it's rare case for me to find perfectly good jeans that fit my bottom half right without any saggy butts or loose thigh areas or even worse, "camel toes" >_< So, if you're looking for a good pair of jeans that will last you a long time and will never just sit in your closet collecting dust, then try Hello! Skinny Jeans.

My inspiration on today's outfit was the 2004 Korean movie called "Love Story In Harvard" which starred Kim Rae Won & Kim Tae Hee. Although, my outfit isn't necessarily based on the movie, I did get my inspiration from it with the button up shirt underneath the chunky sweater.

It was actually a perfect day, today to layer mainly because it was around 70 degrees outside. It was sunny yet breezy just like how October weather should be.

I wanted to wear something very clean and tailored but at the same time, I also wanted to add a hint of a vintage- edgy feel to the whole look, which is why I wore gray denim jeans instead of your typical dark blue denims and paired it with some combat boots and a gold vintage necklace.

Also, my previous outfit of the day was featured in Chictopia's main page & style gallery. --I was soooo happy & excited and even up to now, I'm still having butterflies. hehe! It may not be a huge deal to some of you, but It's a big honor for me & I am very grateful :)

When you think of vintage wayfarers, you automatically think of Raybans. I vividly remember my Dad rocking Rayban wayfarers and aviators back in the day. I used to think it was so old school, but look how it has made it's comeback with a less affordable price tag along with it. I got this Vintage Liz Claiborne blazer from a local thrift store for only $1.99 & I paired it with a cream/ nude lace top while singeing it with a skinny mustard waist belt to give the bulky blazer some shape to it, which then also helps accentuate my petite figure. Also, by singeing the waist with a skinny belt, it creates a peplum on the bottom half of the blazer. And, mind you, peplums from the 30's are making a strong come back this season.

This is my third time working with the beautiful, Ashley Pinkston. The first time was at a fashion show which showcased outstanding designs from SDJC alumni's. The second time was at a photoshoot in which me and my photographer friend collaborated on. This third time, I was personally contacted by her to do her hair & makeup, which I gladly agreed upon. --Ashley recently signed a contract with a modeling agency outside of San Francisco & I'm really happy and of course proud of her! I'm sure she'll go places :) Anyways, here are her gorgeous head shots.

HOW TO ACHIEVE ASHLEY'S LOOK:

I just did a simple smoky eye look on her by using a shimmery pearl color as a highlight on the inner corners of the eyes, a cream color for the lids, a light matte brown on the crease and a matte black on the outer corners, and by blending the outer third to polish the whole look without having harsh lines. I used a metallic copper liner to line the outer third of the bottom lashes and I relined it with a shimmery brownish gold shadow. I also added some natural fake lashes just to add some volume, then I curled her real lashes and the fake together to finish off the eyes. I used some coral/ peach tone blushes to just give her a natural flush of color on the apples of her cheeks. --I also gave her some highlight, just above the cheek bones to brighten up her face, giving it a refreshed look. As for the lips, I just put a hint of pink/ coral tone lipstick and topped it off with a sheer peach gloss, and that's how you achieve Ashley's look :)

Though it's technically fall season, California is still very hot so it's so hard to layer too much or wear the current fall trends. So to incorporate the fall trends to California's climate, I decided to wear a light lace top underneath my bright red linen blazer, which I then rolled up to give it a more causal feel to the whole look.

Another Fall 2011 trend that I see are peplum blazers/ jackets. Since my blazer is just straight cut, I decided to singe it with an elastic waist belt to give the bottom of my blazer a bit of a flare to the garment. By doing so, it also creates an hour glass figure, which is great for women who are petite like me ;)

I used Heidi Yi's Mineral Blush in Matte Apricot on the apples of my cheeks to brighten up my face. I also think that coral/ peach tone blushes works well for women who have medium skin with olive/ yellow undertones.

By the way, I started my internship last Saturday, at this little boutique called City Girl. It's about 30 something miles away from where I live & it's located at a little city outside of Sacramento. Anyways, City Girl carries an array of premium denim like True Religion, Hudson, Seven for all Mankind, etc. We also carry Michael Stars basic tops as well as cashmere sweaters that are to die for.

Anyways, with that said, I wanted to share a few pictures of where I intern for. And as far as what I do, well, I pretty much do anything and everything from marketing to window & in store merchandise display (visual merchandising) to social networking (updating the facebook page), folding piles of scarves & new inventory, etc. Overall, it's been really fun & I'm enjoying myself so far.

Omg! It's been over a month since I last blogged & I'm sooo sorry for that. About 3 something weeks ago, my little brother graduated the US Marine bootcamp, so me and whole family went to San Diego to see my brother. He came back with us after he graduated and he stayed home for 10 days then he left back to SD for more training for a month then he'll be going to his MOS school. --So, basically we just spent those 10 days with him since we won't see him for a long time again. (We also took family pictures, which is a first --I'll post some of them at the end of this post :) Another thing is about 2.5 weeks ago, I started school & basically I have one more semester till I finally graduate. Aside from that, I'm also taking an internship class which is practically getting a job at some local mom & pops type of retail store, which by the way is very stressful. Hair Cut: Asymmetrical A-line w/ Straight Bangs

Hey loves,
What do you think of my new hair cut? Well, it's not necessarily new since I had the same cut last year, but that obviously grew out. Hence, another hair trimming.
But although I had a similar hair cut from last year, I wanted to make the "asymmetrical-ness" of it more noticeable, which is why I asked my hair stylist to make my right side significantly longer than the other.
Also, my stylist mostly used the razor on my hair than scissors. She said, that by doing so it won't grow out weird and it won't look so "bluntly cut"

Anyways, there's nothing much to say here, except I love my hair ;) Finally, I don't have to hide my "awkward length" hair in a high bun all the time. LOL!

But yeah, what do you guys think of my hair cut? Like it? Love it? or Hate it?

Nicole Lee is a very familiar brand, not because I've owned their hand bags before but because I've seen some of their hand bags at either Ross, Marshalls and TJ Maxx and I've always stopped by to look at them because all Nicole Lee hand bags just stands out. MAC Haul

Hey loves,

Here's another blog post after a few days or even a week, I suppose. Anyways, I'm sorry that I haven't kept my promise regarding blogging everyday =/ It just sucks because after my hives, I started to get this major tooth ache and it got soooo bad that I couldn't eat anything solid and I get massive head aches to the point where I can't even sleep. All I do is cry because the pain is so unbearable. It just sucks that I have to go through bad luck after bad luck but It's going to be okay (I HOPE & PRAY!) ~I'll be going to the dentist tomorrow to see what's up with this tooth & why it's being a little biatch to me ;)

Anyways, a couple of days ago I have mentioned on both my twitter and personal facebook account that my boyfriend got me a rolling makeup train case for our 2 year anniversary & it just happened that it arrived a few weeks earlier prior to our actual anniversary.

But as a makeup artist with a small budget, it was difficult for me to get a bigger and better train case for my ever growing kit and I've always wanted to get a rolling train case but I just didn't have enough money. But yeah, thankfully my awesome boyfriend got me one & I couldn't be happier and more grateful.

I'm excited and happy beyond words. Not only do have so much room for all of my stuff but it looks more professional now. I really love the fact that I don't have to carry two separate train cases on a gig. I'm just really really happy and I feel so blessed to have such an amazing boyfriend who supports and understands me.

Hey loves,

I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to update this blog as often as I would like to. It's been such a crazy month lately. Aside from being busy with family-oriented stuff, I've also been sick & suffered from hives & a fever for an entire week =/ It was so horrible! Anyways, I'm back on my feet and ready to blog once again :)

FASHION FOCUS: PASTEL & CHIFFON
So whenever we think of pastel or chiffon we automatically think of Spring right? Well, it's not just Spring where we can wear these items at the same time. This summer, pastels and chiffon can be worn as well.
As the weather gets hotter, we want something that's light weight and definitely not something dark, as we all know, the darker the color is, the "hotter" we feel. And no, not the good kind of "hot" either ;)

Anyways, LOVE carries a whole site of chiffon tops & dresses that are perfect for all seasons. This peach sleeveless dress was an amazing addition to my closet full of dresses, as it carries that vintage-feminine feel that I absolutely long for when it comes to dresses. This vintage-femmy dress cuts a little above the knee making it modest enough to be worn at church on Sundays. It has subtle pleating on the neck & waist area. The dress also has an elastic band on the waist to accentuate that certain part of the body more. It also includes the skinny waist belt to singe the waist and to add a little bit of something to this plain dress.

The only downside to the type of fabric is that it isn't wrinkle resistant which may bring you a tad bit of a problem, if you just toss your dresses around. Nonetheless, I'm definitely loving chiffon and pastels this season.

Victorian Era & 1920's Flapper Meets Avant Garde

Ok, so I know I've been talking way too long about this huge photo shoot that I was taking part in. Anyways, it finally happened last Saturday & the pictures are up! So, I hope you guys enjoy them as much as I do.

CONCEPT/ THEME
So, this shoot's whole concept is quite complex, but basically, it's kind of like a mesh of the ideals of beauty back in the Victorian period as well as the 1920's Flapper days. I wanted to make sure I incorporate bits and pieces from those two certain periods while combining a sort of yin & yang vibe to compare and contrast the fashion back in 1920's Flapper period of women empowerment & liberalism to the Victorian era where women wore corsets to keep them in their place.

Aside from that surface concept, I wanted to modernize the look a bit more...ok, maybe a lot more. I wanted to add this avant garde feel in conjunction with the original look. Which is why this shoot is anything but traditional. Which is another reason why I loved & enjoyed it.

Regardless of its simplistic complexity, the shoot is all about the beauty that women have through out the ages and that strength and power women have in the society.

Overall, the shoot was a blast! The models were great as always and my dear photographer friend was beyond amazing & of course, my counterpart "on-the-spot" hair stylist did exceptionally well. I enjoyed every minute of it & would definitely love to work with these wonderful people once again.

Also, I would like to thank my friend Saadia at Mode-5 for providing the wardrobe for the said shoot. The dresses were fabulous <3

I absolutely love this powder! It has become my HG when it comes to setting powders. I love this powder more than my Estee' Laudere, MAC or Etude House, mainly because it gives you a silky smooth canvas, it doesn't cake at & it sets your makeup really well <3 I will definitely repurchase this again. Although, I must say, this little thing right here might cause you some pain in your wallet, as it is about $30. So yeah, price wise can be a bit of a downer, but overall, this product is one heck of a great investment!

ELF BLUSH (CANDID CORAL) & HEIDI YI MINERAL BLUSH ( MATTE APRICOT)
Omg, what can I say? this blush combo is probably the best I've ever come across. ELF's candid coral is an amazing pink-coral blush with flecks of gold. However, it may come a bit too sheer & a little too glittery for my taste if worn by itself. As for Heidi Yi's Mineral Blush in Matte Apricot, well, this blush has made my monthly favorites over several times. It has also been one of my favorite blushes for a few months now. However, since it's a matte finish, it does make your face a little blotchy as the day goes on. Anyways, I discovered that by combining a little bit of both, it gives a perfectly healthy sun-kissed glow to your face without blotchy-ness or too much glitter!

MAC AMPLIFIED LIPSTICK (IMPASSIONED)
This lipstick is a definite must have for this Spring/Summer season. It is a perfect blend of pinks, reds, & corals. I also love the fact that its an amp finish because it is very vibrant and doesn't dry out my lips like most MAC lipstick finishes do. I am also loving the pigmentation that this lipstick gives, it's not sheer by any means but you can definitely control how much you want to put on.

LA COLORS NAIL VARNISH
I got this nail polish from the $1 store & wasn't expecting much from it since it was cheap. But low & behold, this nail polish is one awesome nail polish. I love love love it! I like how it's a clear polish with huge chunk of glitters. It kind of reminds me of the OPI polishes they have at Sephora that looks very similar but costs like $8-9? I think this is also available in gold, so I'm definitely going to head back to my $1 store & grab the gold one as well. I mean seriously, this is such a huge steal, don't you think?

LUMENE RADIANT BEAUTY DROPS
To be honest, this is my first time ever trying these "beauty drops" or any other kind of beauty drops for that matter. But I must say, as weird as it looks, it made my face feel extremely soft. Although, I'm not too sure if it has made my face any more radiant, since you're supposed to use it for exactly 28 days, which you can tell I haven't done so, since I still have a lot left. But nonetheless, I love how it has made my face soft like a baby's bottom <3 I also picked out a bunch from their new VITAMIN C+ line & have been using it religiously with my current skincare routine. (I'll be sure to do a full review of the other Lumene products that I got, in about a few more weeks or so)

FASHION FOCUS: BRIGHT FLIRTY SPRING DRESS

This season isn't just all about florals! This Spring/ Summer season is all about bright bold colors that you can still mix and match with your comfortable neutrals.

This dress is a perfect spring dress just because its light, comfortable and you can dress it down or up depending on how you accessorize it. In my case, I wanted a more casual yet girly look, so I paired this amazing dress with a floppy wide brim sun hat, cat eye sun glasses, a solid mustard skinny waist belt to singe my waist area & a chocolate brown lace vintage-looking satchel.

It's an easy look to pull off, and you can even take away the sun hat for a more casual look.

FACE OF THE DAY
Todays look is very simple! Just a skin toned matte eyeshadow on the lid (MAC's Blanc Type), the usual eyeliner, fake lashes & just added a pop of turquoise color under the lash line (MUA's Shade 6)

FASHION FOCUS: LACED UP CANVAS WEDGES

Wedge shoes are probably the most amazing invention ever made when it comes to women's footwear. Its not only comfortable but also gives you height, for all of us vertically challenged people. I love how you can walk long distances with these shoes and not feel like you just ran a marathon.

The design of these shoes are also very casual but made with a bit of sophistication. I love how the materials that were used screams your regular casual sneakers, but when you look at it more closely, you can see that it's peep toe & who would forget the 4" inch wedge?

Wedges are a huge hit no matter what season it is. They are practical, convenient, comfortable & most of all, styles can vary to fit any occasion.

FASHION HIGHLIGHT: "LIKE A G6" SUNGLASSES

When I saw these sunglasses, I immediately thought of Far East Movement. I love the retro-modern look to it. Plus, I always wanted the sunglasses that the FEM boys wore. Also, this comes in a variety of other colors, including the blue ones that Kevnish always wore. However, I wanted to stick to neutral colors, preferably, black.

Anyways, these sunglasses are only $10 at 80's purple. I love that site! They have so many cute things <3

Oh lookie, me and Jo Kwon from a famous Korean boy band, 2AM are rocking the same pair of sunglasses <3 How awesome is that?

A Story Of Fashion

Natalie's collection was a Bohemian Rock and Roll inspired with tons of glam. Which then inspired me to do a very goddess like makeup with a twist of rock & roll in the mix. I used a lot of gold eye shadow and tons of heavy eyeliner. I also incorporated the "drag" lashes to finish up the look. On the face I put a mixture of matte and shimmer bronzers to bring more light and glow to the face. The lips are then muted so it doesn't clash with the heavy eye makeup.

Overall, the experience was exhausting but it was definitely worth it. A Night To Remember

MY PROM STORY
So, prom season is once again in full swing. It's crazy to think that went to prom about 5 years ago. WOW! How time flies by so dang quick. Anyways, prom was definitely a night to remember for me as I had the worse possible thing happen -_-" It was unfortunate that I had to leave my own prom 30 mins before it ended just because of a stupid hive.

Me and my friends along with my date went out to eat at Red Lobster (I didn't want to be rude & tell them no since everyone wanted to eat there) And as most of you probably know, I am deathly allergic to anything shellfish. So, I chose to eat scallops instead, but low and behold, I was also allergic to that as well. Actually, it turns out that I am allergic to anything seafood except for fish and mussels, for God know what reason, right?

Anyways, with that said and done, I had to go home 30 mins before prom ended and I missed out on the last dance as well as the senior picture with my senior class -_-" Sucks for me right? But, through it all, I thought it as a great experience and for all you highschoolers out there, definitely go to your prom.

Have fun & live your senior life to the fullest because before you know it, you'll be in college stuck with tons of projects and crazy ass professors. LMAO!

Charles Frederick Worth (late 1800's - early 1900)

Charles Frederick Worth is a Parisian designer that was titled the first fashion designer as well as the first designer to do a fashion show.

Paul Pioret

Paul Pioret is another Parisian designer that is known for eliminating corsets and replacing them with "bras" as well as reintroducing harem pants. Pioret, is the first designer to create his own designer fragrance. He devised both the sheath & the sack dress. Pioret also worked at the House of Worth after CFW's passing. He also established his own Maison de Couture.

Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel (1920's)

Coco Chanel originally designed hats for prostitutes and made clothes with little or no undergarments. However, she made a statement in fashion with her comfortable separates for women, her famous Chanel suits, costume jewelry and of course, who would forget her little black dress and the worlds best selling perfume, the Chanel no.5.

Madame (Madeline) Vionnet (1930)

Madeline Vionnet was the first one to create a garment that is made of silk fabric and is cut on the bias, so that it would drape well on the body. This dress, is now known to be the "bias cut" dress and this kind of gown/ dress was reflected in the old Hollywood glamour.

Claire McCardell (1940)

Claire McCardell was the first American designer to launch a RTW (Ready To Wear) line. She is also responsible for the wrap dress as well as the infamous pot holder dress.

Christian Dior (1949)

Christian Dior was the first designer to initiate designer name "licensing." He is also responsible for the "New Look" which is bringing back women to that hour glass silhouettes with tight fitting tops and corsets.

Yves Saint Laurent is a talented designer who worked for the House of Dior, after Dior died. He was also inspired by art, particularly the color blocked painting, the "mondrian", by artist Piet Mondrian. Saint Laurent is also responsible for his no gender/ androgynous designs.

FASHION FOCUS: Grayscale Silhouette

Just cause it's Spring, that doesn't mean you're obligated to wear bright or pastel colors all the time. This dress that I'm wearing can be considered a neutral "color" block dress & color blocking is definitely making a huge statement this Spring 2011. Now, you can say that a grayscale dress is a more subtle way of adapting to the color blocking band wagon. It almost looks like the ying & yang symbol except for the fact that it's gray on one side as oppose to white.

Aside from that, I also love the silhouette design of this dress. It's very slimming and flattering for almost every body type. Another thing that I adore about this dress is the that it's made with a very light & flowy fabric, which is perfect for the spring time weather. It has a good hand & drapes well which makes it a wonderful all around piece.

The only down side to this dress is that it isn't wrinkle resistant, hence this dress is likely to wrinkle at any given point. Also, since this dress is made of a chiffon-like fabric, the likelihood of it being machine washed is almost slim to none. Another thing that you might want to consider when it comes to figuring how to get rid of the wrinkles is by steaming the garment.
