Photoshoot: Head shots for Ashley

This is my third time working with the beautiful, Ashley Pinkston. The first time was at a fashion show which showcased outstanding designs from SDJC alumni's. The second time was at a photoshoot in which me and my photographer friend collaborated on. This third time, I was personally contacted by her to do her hair & makeup, which I gladly agreed upon. --Ashley recently signed a contract with a modeling agency outside of San Francisco & I'm really happy and of course proud of her! I'm sure she'll go places :) Anyways, here are her gorgeous head shots.

Model: Ashley Pinkston
Photographer: Peter Ricacho of Upstart Photos

HOW TO ACHIEVE ASHLEY'S LOOK:
I just did a simple smoky eye look on her by using a shimmery pearl color as a highlight on the inner corners of the eyes, a cream color for the lids, a light matte brown on the crease and a matte black on the outer corners, and by blending the outer third to polish the whole look without having harsh lines. I used a metallic copper liner to line the outer third of the bottom lashes and I relined it with a shimmery brownish gold shadow. I also added some natural fake lashes just to add some volume, then I curled her real lashes and the fake together to finish off the eyes. I used some coral/ peach tone blushes to just give her a natural flush of color on the apples of her cheeks. --I also gave her some highlight, just above the cheek bones to brighten up her face, giving it a refreshed look. As for the lips, I just put a hint of pink/ coral tone lipstick and topped it off with a sheer peach gloss, and that's how you achieve Ashley's look :)

It's burning hot outside right now, thankfully I wore this earlier in the morning when it was a bit chilly. It's crazy  to come think of it, it's almost October and it's still hot as heck over here in California. Usually, around this time of year, we get a bunch of rain & the leaves from the trees change their colors from bright green to yellow, orange and red. Now, I wonder when fall season is really going to start. I do hope it's soon!

Fall 2011 Fashion Trends For Less

It's almost the end of September and Fall is coming up fast (or not, especially for some of us that live in California) and whether we like it or not the seasons are changing and so is fashion.

Now, whether we follow the latest trends or oppose them, it's always inevitable that in one way or another, we'll gradually compromise and adapt a couple or few of the trends that season. However, I noticed that this season, fashion is going back old school. Back in the 70's with the bold colors and at the same time giving it an oriental feel, with the use of softer and lighter fabrics to create a garment.

Coco-Fashion is a new online site that I recently discovered. It is one of the first online shopping sites that caters to an up-to-date Korean fashion and Asian lifestyle. Whether you like the cute feminine appearance, sweet asian style, or that unique style to stand out in a crowd, Coco-Fashion.com is exactly for you. They offer you a huge variety of Women's blouses, t-shirts, tunics, jackets, skirts & dresses - online for a very affordable price. Another things that's great about this online-store is that they ship worldwide.

While browsing their huge selections of dresses, tops, pants, shoes & more, I noticed they had a few items that are definitely in fashion fit for this fall 2011 season. Here are my TOP PICKS & some of my favorites.

FALL TREND: MUSTARD DRESS

FALL TREND: PEPLUM

FALL TREND: SUBTLE LACE

FALL TREND: BRIGHT COLORED PANTS

FASHION TREND: WIDE LEG PANTS

FALL TREND: LACING

FALL TREND: CHUNKY HEELS
